The family running this hotel was trying hare, and had renovated the hotel.....but perhaps too cheaply. Rooms lacked charm and were somewhat depressing.

Beautiful hotel, the stay was perfect 10/10, magnificent location in the middle of the city. The atmosphere created was individual. The room was perfect and clean and well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed its garden views. Location: the property was close to the center of Alvignac. The staff was kind and great - I would stay here again.

As indicated in Q2, the staff were very helpful and all the facilities including the pool were excellent. The pool should have been available before 11.00 though. Food very good and served by friendly staff. Room good size (after 22 stairs! How many to the 2nd floor?). Plenty of tourist activities in the area.

The Hotel Du Chateau is very easy to find using the Booked.net directions. It is in a very quiet village, the only noise is birdsong and chruch bells. The owners were very helpful and spoke a decent amount of English and were also fluent in Spanish. The hotel was tastefully furnished, the restaurant was very busy with not only guests but people who had driven from other villages etc. The food was excellent, there were regional dishes as well as dishes that would suit someone who is not as adventourous. It was good value. The owners and staff went out of their way to accommodate you, I only booked for one night but stayed two as it was such a delightful hotel. It is centrally located for the area and makes an excellent basis for touring such a lovely part of France.
The only bad point I would say is that the internet is only in public areas and is restricted to 20 mins per day. I tried to buy extra time, but it was not possible and as I needed to be on the internet for longer, it proved a little problematic. However, in nearby Gramat is a public library which is open everyday 10am to midday and you can use the internet for as long as you like for €2, so that solved the problem and Gramat is a lovely little town to wander around and at the crossroads of virtually everywhere you will want to go to in the area.
